With continuing investment in our highly automated manufacturing capability, including bar coded order tracking and integration with our customers’ own manufacturing systems, we bring exceptional transparency to IGU supply, giving you the visibility to plan your work schedules.
A commitment to product quality & service
With capacity to manufacture more than 1,500 IGUs each week we have the scale to deliver on high volume orders. At the same time, with a dedicated technical support and customer services team, we underpin great product quality with a commitment to genuine partnership working.
With a completely transparent supply chain and offering full bar code tracking against all of the products we make, all IGUs manufactured by Padiham Glass are CE marked and meet and exceed requirements set out in BS EN1279; BS EN12150 certification. We are also a fully licensed specialist supplier of fire-rated glass.
We work at all times to minimise the impact of our business on the environment. This includes all aspects of our operation from working to deliver increased efficiency and reduction in our energy consumption to transparency of supply chain and responsible sourcing of materials. We are also committed to reducing, recovering and recycling waste generated through manufacture.
One of the UK’s leading independent manufacturers of high-performance insulating glass units and suppliers of processed and decorative glass, we started out in 1980 as a small family-run business supplying glass and joinery products to the trade.
We’ve grown significantly since then, to supply high performance sealed units to trade, new build and specification sectors, nationwide. We followed the commissioning of our first toughening plant in 1996, with the construction of our purpose-built 35,000sq/ft production facility in 2004, increasing warehousing, introducing new automated IGU lines and housing a second toughening plant.
This was followed a year later by the construction of 10,000sq/ft extension accommodating an automated double-glazing line and robotic ‘warm edge’ spacer-bar applicator, shortly followed by acquisition of a second automated line.
Still operating as an independent IGU manufacturer, Padiham Glass was acquired by the Emplas Group of companies in May 2018, bringing new security and scale to our operation. With six-figure investment announced at the beginning of January 2019, we continue to build for the future.
