Class 2 Driver

Padiham Glass is one of the UK’s largest and independent manufacturers of IGUs (insulating glass units). Over the last 18 months, Padiham Glass has made significant investments in machinery and fleet vehicles, to accommodate the increase in demand for our products and services. Due to these developments, we are currently looking to recruit a qualified and experienced Class 2 (Cat C) LGV driver.One member of our fleetIn addition to a Class 2 LGV licence (which will have no more than 3 penalty points) you must have a CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) card and a digi-tachograph card. The job will consist of the loading and unloading of heavy goods; previous experience of large goods delivery is preferred however, full training will be provided. A forklift truck license would also be an advantage but is not essential.

You must possess excellent customer service and communication skills and present yourself in a professional manner at all times. With a polite and customer-focussed attitude, you will help Padiham Glass to promote its’ sterling reputation across the country.

IGU production line operative

Padiham Glass Ltd is one of the UK’s leading IGU (insulating glass unit) manufacturers and provides glass products across the country. Our glass has been used in various projects including football clubs, housing developments, colleges and shopping centres.
 
We make in the region of 10,000 insulating glass units every week and are currently looking for experienced glass operatives to work in our busy manufacturing facility.
 
Padiham Glass Ltd has vacancies for experienced IGU production line operatives. The ideal candidate will have a good working knowledge of IGU manufacture or will have experience of working in a glass manufacturing environment. Duties may include (but are not limited to):


·         Automatic and manual insulated glass unit line operations

·         Flat glass handling and insulated glass unit handling

·         Manual and automatic glass cutting

·         Loading and unloading stillages for dispatch

The applicant must possess a good knowledge and understanding of Health & Safety requirements, especially the expectations in a flat glass processing and unit line production environment.
 
An awareness and understanding of BS 1279 quality inspection/control requirements is preferred but not essential as full training will be given where necessary.
 
A full clean driving license would also be an advantage but non-essential.
